If you are wanting to participate in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County’s Bottle Caps & Corks this year, see the email below from Maria regarding the event….

Sponsorship Form  2020 Brewer Vintner Packet

      Hello Home Brewers!

My name is Maria Tomlinson and I am with Big Brothers Big Sisters. On August 1, 2020, we are hosting our annual Bottle Caps and Corks event at the Northern Indiana Event Center in Elkhart, IN. This event is unique – instead of featuring local wineries and breweries, we feature amateur home brewers and wine makers. This is a one-of-a-kind event in the area, and we are so proud to host this.

I am writing to you today to see if you or anybody in your club would be interested in participating as a home brewer. The deadline to apply is July 24, 2020, so you still have plenty of time to think it over! As you can see from the attached Brewer and Vintner packet, we waive the $25 entry fee for those who bring over 3 different items. However, we will be also waiving the $25 fee for anybody who registers before July 1, 2020. All of the information and requirements for the event are in the attached packet. When you decide to participate, please fill that out to the best of your ability (we do not need to know specific details of your entries yet!) and then email it back to me.

If you do not want to participate as a brewer or vintner this year, but would love to attend the event, I promise you will not be disappointed! You can purchase tickets here.

If your club or business is interested in sponsoring this event, that is wonderful! I have also attached our sponsorship form for you to look at. If you have any questions about sponsorship, you can email Kara Wood.

All of the funds raised from this event stay in Elkhart County as we continue to match at-risk children with caring adult mentors. Our program is statistically proven to increase the quality of life of these children, as over 95% of our Littles say that they have an important adult in their life, and over 92% say that they have increased confidence in their schoolwork. These numbers are what keep us going every day to continue to help these at-risk children.

If you have any questions about this event or our organization, please feel free to email me back or call/text my cell at 574-807-4808. Also, please feel free to forward this email on to anybody who may find this event interesting.

Thank you so much, and I am looking forward to hearing back from you!

This event has been cancelled for 2020. Excerpt from email I received regarding the event.

Over the last few months, we have learned just how much the COVID-19 pandemic can and will have an impact over the things we do. We had originally just pushed back the date of our annual Bottle Caps and Corks event to August 1, 2020, thinking that we would be safe and in the clear once again. However, seeing the trends, especially those in Elkhart County, we have decided that it is best to postpone our annual Bottle Caps and Corks event even further.

While we are saddened by this decision, we truly believe that the safety of our brewers and vintners, staff members, volunteers, sponsors, judges, vendors, attendees, and everybody else that is involved is our first priority. We have officially postponed until June 12, 2021, and will still be located at the Northern Indiana Event Center.
