Does anyone have or know where to find a recipe for Bell's Hopslam? I've been looking on the web, but can only find comments on what people think might be in it.

I haven't come up with one in my sources either. But I did find a DIPA recipe at BYO, Hop Monster Double IPA

Thanks Jeff. This looks pretty close, but not ever having tried it I don't know. If I don't find a clone recipe I'll have to make this and then see how to tweek it from there. I'm guessing by what you said, you are thinking of brewing one too?

Jeff, I found this on a forum somewhere. I tried to verify it on Bells website, but I can't seen to get thier new site to work for me.
On the forum, someone said according to Bells, the hops used are:

Hersbrucker
Centenial
Glacier
Vanguard
Crystal
all these go in the boil and Simcoe is used to dry hop.

I would tend to think he might have it backwards. The hop aroma to me is more like the noble hops with bittering from the Simcoe.

What are your thoughts.

Although I've started a yeast culture of the yeast in Hopslam, I'm still looking into commercial yeast.
(I haven't had the best luck or enough patience growing yeast to a pitchable amount) After a bit of research on the net it looks like, in order of [my] preference, the best yeasts to use would be:
Wyeast 1272
WL001
WL051
possibly as 3rd runner-up WL060

Am I in the ball park or out in left field?
